Each week I share what I’m wearing to inspire you to show up for yourself and stop saving the good stuff for later. Paid subscribers get full access to all my looks, posted every Thursday morning.

Tuesday

top (similar) • joggers (I don’t like the one’s I’m wearing so I linked the ones I do) • socks • bangle (It’s EXACTLY what I wanted it to be and isn’t heavy)

I’ve been in a bit of a funk the past couple of weeks where it’s a bit of a struggle to get dressed. I’ve pinpointed the source of the funk and I’m working on cleaning up my mistake. The short version is that I started doing too much and overwhelmed myself. Now I’m strategically withdrawing from things I said yes to that will lead me to burnout.

Anyway, I reached for these joggers this morning and they’re about to get donated. I’m not excited to wear them anymore and haven’t been for a while. I almost didn’t take an outfit selfie today because I don’t like this look, but I thought being honest about how I don’t love everything in my closet was important. I want to get to a point where I love everything and that means I can’t hold on to things only because they’re functional. Out these will go! After I wash them, of course.

One of the best fragrances under $30! // fragrance

I wanted to smell light and playful today—sweet and creamy like a milkshake, but too overtly sweet. The day called for Lattafa Yara. I have another lactonic fragrance that smells like a strawberry milkshake, but she’s very sweet. I wasn’t in the mood for that. It made the outfit better, but nowhere near enough to make me want to keep these pants.

Wednesday

Yet another outfit I hate, but I needed function more than form today. I had to take the fur child to her yearly checkup and she’s always a nervous wreck. She shed so much fur on me last time I swear I could have knitted a sweater. This time was no different. I made the mistake of wearing a black shirt last year and refused to play myself this year. Quince Cotton Tee for the win!

I’d normally choose to wear sandals in the summer, but vet visits call for fully enclosed feet. You never know what you’re about to encounter in there and I’d like to leave with nothing more than what I came with. I wore my Nike Blazers but I took them off before taking this picture because the outfit was just so bad.

My outfits to start the week have taught me something very important about my wardrobe and how I will choose outfits going forward. I’ll get more into that behind the paywall.

From the Chat

I could send these chat’s via email, but I think that would be annoying. I’m not here to bombard you with sales the second I find them, but I don’t like keeping good things to myself. I only talk about sales that are compelling. 15% off at Abercrombie simply is not. I mean, saving money is saving money but that’s not a steal you’ll be excited about.

I’m all about getting luxe for less, but I prefer Discerning on a Dime™. (If you have a better name let me know! I’m not sold on this one.) Plenty of beautiful things go on sale every day, but not everything is worth it, even on sale. When I share a sale it’s because it’s worth it to me. You have to decide if it’s worth it for you.

With that said…Ami Colē has literally never let me down. I got the skin tint in the wrong shade but that’s on me. I can make it work with a little artful powder work, but it performs beautifully! So does the foundation stick. I need more Ami Colē in my life so I was looking at their lip oils when I found this:

Speaking of sales…

  • Get up to 60% off pieces at thee Saks Designer Sale. I’m partial to this Staud dress that I had my hands on a few weeks ago. I should have tried it on so I knew my size, but I’m willing to risk buying a size too big and getting it tailored. I also think this Veronica Beard dress is cute. She gives Balmain, but less gaudy. Pro tip: filter by price to remove things that are out of your budget.

  • CB2’s July 4th sale is live! I’m so glad I waited to get the nightstand I’ve been eyeing for months! It’s $165 less than full price. I’ve waited long enough and my beat up IKEA nightstand is on its last leg. Time to upgrade. Solid wood and iron?! Say less. Buy well, buy once.
