Tuesday
I built today’s outfit around this tote because it has an abysmal cost per wear. I got it to determine if I’d actually use a Dior Book Tote before splurging on one, but it’s abundantly clear to me that I will not. I only use this bag to put my stuff in when I’m on vacation. I don’t go on enough of those at the moment to justify the spend on the designer version. I’m glad I picked this tote up at H&M a few years ago instead. I saved myself from buyer’s remorse.
Pro tip: Get a cheaper version of the more expensive thing you want if you’re unsure how much you’ll use it. If you wear it to death, buy the real thing. If you don’t, you probably just saved some money.
Today’s scent is Sofia Isabel. It was the first thing I reached for this morning, and I immediately knew it was the one to wear today. The orange and tangerine notes combined with the woody florals are perfect for summer. I’m going to challenge myself not to pick this one up again for a week. We’ll see how I do.
Wednesday
I told you I was going to get back to dressing! I almost wore this to get barbeque over the weekend, but realized how devastated I’d be if I got sauce on it and thought better of it. I couldn’t stop thinking about the dress, so I decided to put it on today. It’s the piece that made me fall in love with sheer details. You can tell in this picture, but the dress is almost entirely sheer. You can really tell when it’s back lit.
I also put on Blue Tailisman, a scent I haven’t worn since early spring. I wasn’t sold on wearing this on its own today, so I sprayed Sunsets in Capri on top of it and immediately did a happy dance. The citrus notes in Sunsets in Capri lightened the entire scent profile to feel more like summer, and I still got to experience the woody dry down of Blue Tailisman. I need to find this scent on sale somewhere before I run out of this sample.
Discerning on a Dime
Quick refresher: I only talk about sales that are compelling. Most simply are not. I’m all about getting luxe for less, but I prefer Discerning on a Dime. (Seriously…if you have a better name, let me know! My inbox is wide open, and I’ll give you my undying gratitude and a shout-out in an upcoming newsletter.) Plenty of beautiful things go on sale every day, but not everything is worth it, even on sale. When I share a sale, it’s because it’s worth it to me. You have to decide if it’s worth it for you.
Penhaligon’s Friends & Family
You snooze, you lose! I was tipped off to a fantastic sale happening at a perfumer that I’ve been DYING to get a whiff of. I placed my order expeditiously. Did I blind buy a bottle? Duh! When a $300 bottle of perfume is $150 you absolutely buy it and hope for the best. I also grabbed two discovery sets, and The Mister™ scooped up something that was on his olfactory radar, too. Sadly, this sale has ended, but of course, I’ll let you know when a great deal like this happens again.

This sale is largely underwhelming, but I did find this single gem. The suede version of my leather moto jacket is almost 50% off! It’s $270 off the regular price, so this is an absolute steal. The sale starts for everyone on 7/12.
Crate & Barrel 4th of July Warehouse Sale
I just spent a pretty penny on nightstands, so I don’t anticipate buying more furniture soon. However, this sale is enticing! Up to 60% off furniture, flatware, decor, cookware, lighting, and pretty much every category that Crate & Barrel sells.
Michael Kors Semi-Annual Sale
There are plenty of shoes on sale for under $100. There are some that are under $50, but they don’t get cute until the sale price gets close to $89—but do what’s best for your closet and wallet. There are also a few winners in women’s clothing, but the sizes are all over the place. The discount is pretty good if you can find your size. And to sweeten the deal, they’re offering an extra 10% off already discounted styles with code TAKE10.
