The Thursday Edit // No.58
what i wore, styled, and sprayed this week
This week was all about getting what is probably my last wear for the season out of an affordable cashmere sweater, my on-going obsession with wide leg jeans, and continuing to pilfer a fragrance from his collection.
Let’s do it!
This super-soft cashmere sweater and flowy pants combo has been living rent-free as an outfit idea in my head just waiting for the right shoe to come along. While I have yet to make that purchase, I figured I’d take the look for a spin sans shoes to make sure I like it. Yea…I’m gonna have to get some heels to wear with this. I’m leaning toward a skin tone pump, but these are calling my name too.
I’m putting quite the dent in this perfume! I love wearing it when I travel since it has a very calming quality about it, but I’ll wear it anytime. It smells like toasted coconut, rice pudding, vanilla and sandalwood with a few other notes that tie them all together.
I know a 100ml bottle is a big commitment, but they have samples! And to get the most out of your shipping fee, might I suggest another favorite—Nearly Nude. You know what, just grab the discovery kit while you’re at it too. It’s how Sofia Isabel made it’s way into my collection and Payton made it to his.
I’ve clearly got warm weather on my mind. This woven bag was the starting point. The silhouette is easy to dress up and the material makes it easy to dress down too. You could wear it with a maxi dress like I’ve styled here or with wide leg pants and a tank. I went with colorful sandals and sunglasses to add interest and finished the look with gold earrings and a lip balm.
I love how I don’t feel too warm in this featherweight cashmere turtleneck and I wish I would have gotten it in another color since I don’t think it’s available anymore. The do have a crewneck version that I should try since I’ll be able to wear it more comfortably in the short weeks that Texas experiences fall and spring.
I thought about wearing a pair of straight leg pants but it felt like a wide leg denim kind of day. These might be my favorite pair of jeans at the moment. They’re comfortable and sturdy, but they have no stretch. I had to get the size that fit my hips and have them taken in. They were the exact wash I wanted to the extra effort to make them perfect was worth it. I wouldn’t mind getting another pair in a medium wash and a 32 or 34 inch inseam so I can wear heels with them and not look like I’m preparing for a flood.
I love pilfering a few sprays of this fragrance from Chanston. It reminds me of root beer, but also cream soda. It’s warm and spicy sweet with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and praline. Plus, it’s on sale right now for $30!
I fell in love with linen button downs a few summers ago and our bond is still going strong. I’m eyeing this one to add a different color to the line up. These jeans are very lightweight so you won’t feel suffocated—plus they come in a curvy fit! I’ve been considering this bag as an alternative to my beat up black Kate Spade (it’s under $120!) and open-weave flats are growing on me. I mean, I have to have another option besides sandals since the weather permits having your toes our for more than half the year. Simple gold earrings would finish the look for me (these are also available in silver and are $7!).
Why is it already warm enough for flip flops?! (Mine are old Michael Kors, but I like these too.) And yes, these are the same wide leg jeans I wore earlier. I’m obsessed! Why did we deal with the constriction of skinny jeans? Give me all the room, thanks.
I love a built in bra tank! This one is utility green and I have 3 more colors. The comfortable enough to wear around the house, but cute enough to wear outside. You’ll have to wear inserts if you don’t want people to know you’re cold, but I firmly believe that a little nip never hurt anybody. This look was very summery so I grabbed my suede tote to give a nod to cooler weather. Those days are likely behind us until at least October.
Also, did you notice I’m wearing the same glasses with every look this week? They’re dramatic and make it look like I tried harder when I got dressed. I used to want to look effortless, but lately I’ve been leaning toward wanting to look like I spent more than 10 minutes getting ready.
