The Weekly Edit // No. 67
Everything what I wore, styled, and sprayed this week.
I’m back! Thanks for being patient with me while I took a quick break. I wanted to stick to my posting cadence, but I’m learning to listen to my body when it’s telling me to slow down. It helps that my Oura ring gives me a lovely red screen in the morning when I’m doing the most. It makes me consider my choices and try to get to bed earlier. That means something usually has to give and this time it was my wardrobe diary.
I’m still not at a place where I love most of my closet, so I tend to have to put a lot of thought into each outfit to get close to something that I feel at home in. That’s also why it’s important to me to keep trying. I want a wardrobe that suits me and makes me excited about getting dressed. It’s just hard right now because I’m in the building phase, and anything worth building is hard to do. It’s the effort that makes it worthwhile.
Thank you for being here while I try, fail, and share my thoughts about my outfits. It might be a long journey, but it’s nice not to do it alone. It’ll be worth it once I feel like I’ve arrived.

DAY 1
After a week of not wanting to get dressed, I finally put on something besides sweats! The Mister and I snagged a reservation at Nancy’s Hustle, so we made our way into the city for a nice meal. It’s a more relaxed kind of place, so I was overdressed but I knew I would be.
I started my outfit with the top since I wanted something fancier for the evening. This picture isn’t doing the mesh at the top any justice! It’s more obvious in person. I almost wore it with black dress pants, but that felt too dressy. Straight leg jeans to the rescue! I also considered wearing black sandals, but instead went for the unexpected pink shoe, and I love this! This outfit feels like me.
I sprayed Burberry Goddess because I wanted something that leans gourmand and sweet. We were going to eat, after all. The vanilla comes through much stronger than the lavender, so you aren’t bombarded with nothing but syrupy sweetness. The lavender adds an earthy element to it that’s still edible. This is a fantastic fragrance.
DAY 2
I woke up and chose drama with this dress. I knew work was going to be a beast for a lot of reasons and I wanted to feel capable of going 0 to 100. My mornings are very slow, so when I have to hit the ground running at work, it’s always a little rough. I prefer to ease into my day with emails and handling my most important task before talking to people. I can’t always have my way, apparently.
I sprayed a new sample today, Merit Beauty Retrospect. It smells like pears and powder. Inject it into my veins. Actually…don’t, because that sounds deadly, but you get my point. I’m going to need a full size of this, but it can wait because it’s not a summer scent for me.
DAY 3
Sometimes simplicity pays off. A sleeveless funnel neck top tucked into wide leg jeans with a large tote bag was an easy formula to reach for. I should really get some dark brown sandals to make this outfit even better.
I sprayed DefineMe Sofia Isabel because I wanted to smell like sugar with a hint of citrus.
DAY 4
Today I wanted to wear something I know I don’t choose very often. I thought this skirt may have finished its time in my closet, but throughout the day I was reminded why I like it so much. Pleats are fun! I wore it with a bodysuit so I wouldn’t have to worry about my top staying tucked, and added my Staud flats to see how I felt about wearing them with a skirt. I wasn’t expecting to like this, but I kind of dig it.
I sprayed DedCool Red Dakota today because I wanted a citrus scent, and I want to get rid of my travel size. I like it, but it smells similar to D.S. & Durga Debaser, but more intimate. People won’t smell you coming in this one after about an hour, but if you hug someone they’ll get a whiff.
DAY 5
The day of the OCTANE tour show finally arrived! I wanted to nod to the theme and the album aesthetic, but with pieces I’d wear again. I picked up these boots at Aldo since I’m not a combat boot kind of girl, but I wanted giant shoes for the vibe. I’m not sure I’ll wear them a lot, but they’re good for concerts. I paid less than $50 for them so I’m not mad at it.
My top and barrel pants are from H&M. I’ve worn this top 3 times already and you’ll be seeing these pants at least twice per month for the foreseeable future. They look really cute with sandals.
I knew I was bringing my clear stadium bag. I always get a ton of compliments about it when I bring it out, and this one was no different. One day, I’ll hopefully be able to trade this for a Chanel Sand by the Sea with the pearl strap, but until then this will certainly do.
In the end, my choice of fragrance didn’t matter. (I layered Burberry Goddess and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc for a summery vanilla vibe.) My fellow concertgoers decided to smoke cannabis like chimneys, and someone within 20 feet had straight gas. It was all I could smell until I was back outside the venue. It was perfect.
I wouldn’t change a single thing about the night, other than BANDIT getting cut from the set list. I love it when that song is played live because the electric guitar is insane. The venue was literally rocking (like, I could feel the stadium moving from the crowd going crazy!), and we got an appearance from Travis Scott, so that makes up for it.
I can hardly wait for our next show!

I’ve been recovering from being out way past my bedtime and being on my feet for 3 hours for the past few days. I don’t bounce back as quickly as I did in my 20s, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m glad I’ve gotten to a place where I can pay for a good seat. Heavy emphasis on seat because that’s where I’ll be until the show starts.
I will not be getting a GA ticket to any concert because I’m not standing around for 6+ hours just to get a good view. I’ll be in the stands with my assigned seat for sure. The pit is a younger person’s game that I’m happy to let them play.
This week, I’m hoping I can finally finish a draft I’ve been working on for over a month about new beauty products I’ve tried and liked. It’s been almost a year since I’ve given an update about the new things I’ve added to my routine, so this is way overdue.
Also, I may pop in with a few Memorial Day sales that are worth your while later in the week. I have my eye on a few things I’d love to scoop up at a discount, but I’ll be checking all of my favorite places for sales. Stay tuned!
